Clw Wag 9 Cab Door Aluminium

Clw Wag 9 Cab Door Aluminium

The CLW WAG-9 cab side door is a fabricated aluminium door assembly used on the driver’s cab of the WAG-9 family of three-phase electric locomotives built/overhauled at Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW). The door is built from cast/extruded and fabricated aluminium sections, incorporates glazing and gasketing for an airtight seal, and is designed for inward opening and secure locking suitable for locomotive service and crash/pressure requirements referenced in CLW drawings and maintenance manuals

1. Assemblies

  • Door leaf (main aluminium fabricated panel; cast/extruded stiffeners).

  • Door frame / door surround (aluminium frame welded / bolted to cab shell).

  • Vision/window glazing assembly (laminated/tempered glass, bead, gasket).

  • Hinges (heavy duty pivot hinges, hinge pins, bushes).

  • Door catch / anchor assembly (holds door open / secures closed).

  • Locking mechanism (keyed or mechanical lock, emergency release).

  • Perimeter gasket & seals (EPDM or similar).

  • Internal trim / reinforcement / insulation (sound & thermal).

  • Fasteners & washers (high-strength, corrosion resistant)

2. Specifications & Drawings

CLW provides specifications, STRs and drawing numbers for WAG-9 shell and door items. For design, manufacture or procurement you must refer to the exact CLW drawing or STR/Specification (these contain tolerances, weld/fastener classes, finish, painting and material grades).
